would be used in the event of a power outage do to the destructive forces
of natural disasters or terrorist attack.
Prepare today to
prevent last minute shopping in the chaotic final hours before a storm
hits your area. Store your items in water - resistant containers,
Replenish as necessary, especially at the beginning of hurricane or
tornado season.
Here are a few
ideas for what your kit should consist of :

 | Two week supply of nonperishable / special dietary
foods |
 | Drinking water / containers - 1 gallon per person,
per day (minimum three day supply) |
 | Flashlights and batteries (seven sets) for each
member of the family |
 | Portable radio and batteries (seven sets) |

 | Medical Kit including : bandages, antiseptic, tape,
compresses, asprin, and non aspirin pain reliever, antidiarrhea
medication, antacid, Syrup of Ipecac (used to induce vomiting if
advised by the Poison Control Center) |
 | Instant tire sealer |
 | Whistle and / or distress flag |
 | Two coolers ; one for food, one to get ice and nails,
etc. |
 | Plastic trash bags |
 | Water purification kit (tablets, plain chlorine, and
iodine) |
 | Infant necessities (sterile water, diapers, ready
formula, bottles) |
 | Cleanup Supplies (mop, buckets, towels, disinfectant) |

If you evacuate,

information, insurance policies, and property inventories) |
 | Precious commodities before and after a storm - (ie.,
cash, etc.) Power may be out, banks and ATM's may be closed, credit
cards unaccepted. |
